You know all those feelings you don’t want to feel? Yeah. About that.
Truth be told, I hate journaling. I know most people in the self-help industry are alllll about the journal. They’ll almost always suggest you journal, every day. For at least 15 minutes. Journal what your grateful for and wishes and dreams and blah, blah, blah. And you know what? They’re right.
But I really don’t want to.
Journaling definitely helps you facilitate thoughts and organize all of the feelings and emotions that come up. In my minds eye, I have beautiful leather journals with pens that just glide across the linen paper. The words are elegantly written with gorgeous penmanship and my works, they’re magic. Reality is a whole n’other ballgame. My handwriting is sloppy, I don’t like “ruining” journals with my ramblings, which is literally how it all avalanches out of the tips of my fingers. It’s messy, I misspell words, it’s a hot mess. My journaling method of choice is using google docs. I will admit, I was intimidated and fought trying Google docs and Speadsheets because frankly, I didn’t want to learn something new. But they’re definitely my go to method. I can move ideas and topics around to fit where they’re supposed to go, my spell check is in check and it’s all organized in one
